At this time of year I try to pause and take a look at the previous months and ask myself if I’m making the most of 2024. By this I mean less what I’ve earnt, saved and bought, and more what I’ve really enjoyed.
Some of these things involved spending money, but not always. The more important ingredient is often the people I’ve spent time with. After all, a fancy meal in a restaurant or fish and chips on the pier are both elevated by the company you keep.
In my case, a highlight was swimming in a local marine pool (pictured above) with a friend for the first time, which was an exhilarating (aka slightly chilly) experience enhanced by the friend I swam with.
There have also been professional delights – not least the IFW Conference in May – but even these pleasures are improved by the opportunity to chat with, and learn from, IFW members, as well as our fantastic speakers and ops team.
