Get a head start on your new year’s resolutions with the January Wellbeing Café

In case you missed our email last week, consider this my invitation to you to start 2025 with a Wellbeing Café brimming with vital ideas. At 1pm on Tuesday 14th January, IFW Vice Chair Hiren Panchal will host Jessica Best of McLaren Capital.

Jess will offer you the chance to discover ‘How to address the gender pension gap’ and make a real difference in your professional life.

Book for the January Wellbeing Café.

IFW member Jessica Best is an Independent Financial Planner working with McLaren Capital. Jess has a keen interest in helping to empower women at every stage of their lives to understand and be proud of their wealth. Providing holistic solutions, Jess helps her clients develop retirement plans and intergenerational wealth plans for the entire family as well as helping her younger clients start their savings journey. She believes everyone can benefit from a financial plan and describes herself as “truly being a Financial Planner for life.”

I asked Jess:

What drives you to want to address the gender pension gap?

She replied: “I have a keen passion to empower women and the gender pension gap is something I see through my role as a Financial Planner every single day. Women are characteristically different when it comes to approaching money, it’s in our nature to be more cautious but also to statistically live longer.”

Jess added: “We are all aware of the gender pay gap but there are so many more aspects to our finances that this effects and having enough money to retire is one of the biggest societal concerns. Women need more retirement savings so I want to educate and help women achieve this.”

How did you first discover this?

“It’s hard to pinpoint the exact moment; I have always been aware of the differences between men and women in money. My interest and passion certainly started early on in my career and there has been more public awareness in recent years, something I’m keen to promote.”

In this session you will discover the answer to the questions:

  • What is the gender pension gap?
  • What is the importance of this issue in modern-day society?
  • What can I do to help tackle the gender pension gap as in my professional life?
